Marina, Mom of 2, South Africa
“My kids are both eagerly singing and playing along with Mr Rob’s videos – often in tune, too. They give ‘concerts’ to anyone who happens to be around after a music lesson to show off what they have learned (cue their long-suffering daddy). I love how your program made our house come alive with music! Thank you so much!”

Kids TV You Can Feel Good About
From our family to yours…
Prodigies is family-owned and operated by parents and teachers!
As parents with our own kids, we strive to create engaging, educational & age appropriate content for our little ones.
We’ve seen our nieces and nephews get hooked on weird, nightmare-esque videos designed to make revenue on YouTube Kids.
And with tablets, phones & digital media everywhere, it’s hard to avoid screen-time altogether.
Plus, as busy parents ourselves, we know how helpful the TV can be as a temporary babysitter when you need to make a cup of coffee or take a quick phone call.
But we also know how guilty we feel just throwing our baby in front of the TV, especially when commercials about adult medication come blaring through every 10 minutes.
Enter Prodigies… kids TV you can feel good about.
It’s easy to stream and you can save it to your tablet for offline use on your next road trip.
And it’s not just kids TV. Prodigies brings the educational benefits and joys of traditional music lessons right into your home.
Having grown up in the age of Mr. Rogers & Blues Clues, I always wanted a show that would help me get better at my instrument. There were shows about science, letters and numbers, and even shows that I could sing along with, but there wasn’t much on TV actually teaching me to read, understand and engage with language of music.
With Prodigies, now our kids (and yours!) can have just that…a fun, wholesome and effective way to learn the language of music from the comfort of home.
We hope you have a lot of fun singing, hand-signing and playing along with Prodigies!

Different Series for Different Ages, Levels & Instruments
Inside Prodigies, you’ll discover over 300 video music lessons. The lessons are fun, interactive and extremely effective, and we’re always adding new lessons to keep your musical journey alive and fresh!
Our newest mini-series is designed to prime toddlers (ages 1-3) for the lessons in Preschool Prodigies. These videos are among our easiest and are fun for babies and toddlers. The don’t require an instrument as they focus mostly on the hand-signs, simple rhythm with tapping and clapping, movement and singing call & response songs!
Our flagship program for Preschoolers (ages 3-6) focuses on playing the C Major Deskbells, singing with the C Major Solfege (Curwen) hand-signs, as well as singing about colors, letters, numbers and more. It’s designed to span 1-2 years of preschool music education (depending on your speed) and is best completed sometime between ages 3-6.
A mini-series focused on singing with the Solfege hand signs. These short exercises work as a bridge from Preschool Prodigies into Primary Prodigies, or as instrument free videos when you need them. Great for kids of all ages and they’re easy to use without any prep or detailed follow up.
Designed for the elementary school kids (ages 6-12), Primary Prodigies focuses on reading properly notated music in the treble clef, reading standard rhythmic notation, understanding chords and basic chord analysis, intervals, and much more. Each section of Primary is more robust than any other Prodigies section or series in that each section contains 1 or more lessons, 1 or more song videos, 1 or more performance tracks, and often an analysis lessons, listening game and more.
Designed for people of all ages, Performance Prodigies presents the same songs and challenges from Preschool Prodigies and Primary Prodigies, but in an Orff ensemble type format. This means you can choose to play the bells, sing with the hand-signs, accompany with chords, focus on the lyrics, or even play some percussion! If you’re working with multiple kids, you can split up and rotate through the different instruments to both practice and perform the songs from Preschool & Primary Prodigies.
Celebrating the holidays? Holiday Prodigies takes you through 20 songs, from classic Christmas Carols to secular favorites, and you can find all of the songs in our Holiday Prodigies Songbook. The scope and difficulty of this Holiday themed mini-series is similar to Primary Prodigies and works great for kids and adults alike to celebrate the holidays!
A colorful introduction to the recorder that will help your kids get ahead in music class while also being kind to your ears (we promise!). The series is meant for kids ages 8 and up and has a heavy emphasis on G Major songs, similar to many popular Recorder methods. Each Medieval-themed section teaches your kids a few notes and a few techniques before moving into playing songs with those notes and techniques, all in conjunction with our Recorder Prodigies Book.
If you want some Sweet Beets, have no fear… we’ve got ’em! Our rhythm lessons make keeping a beat, learning to read rhythms and understanding the math behind rhythm fun, engaging and easy. Our rhythm lessons are scattered throughout the series but also grouped together for those times when you just gotta bang on your drum all day.
From individual notes, to chord listening exercises and more, Prodigies places a heavy emphasis on ear-training from the very beginning of the program. Earlier lessons focus on pitch development through “meaningful play with individual notes” and a lot of Fixed Do and C Major activities. As we progress into Primary Prodigies, we start dealing with intervals and more relative pitch listening games.
News, Tutorials, FAQs & Training
Prodigies is also filled with parent and teacher training videos that more generally cover how to teach the hand-signs, how to teach rhythm, how we think about pitch training, how to use each series and more. A lot of our early adopters, even parents with zero musical background, have started teaching group classes after using the program with their kids for a year or two.

Benefits of a Music Education
The Lifelong Benefits of Playing a Musical Instrument
Did you know that playing a musical instrument is like doing a full body workout for your brain?
It’s a life-long skill that promotes cognitive, social and emotional development while bringing fun and joy to the whole family! And with the Prodigies Playground, you’ll be on your way in no-time.
The Benefits of “Meaningful Play with Pitch”
Ever wonder what it takes to give children a knack for music? It’s really all about meaningful play with individual music notes, during the critical years of auditory development.
And while that might sound fancy, it’s a simple method thats highly effective & super easy for non-musicians to teach to their kids.
Learn more about “Meaningful Play with Pitch” in our free eBook, Raising a Young Musician.
Perfect Pitch in Action!
Even if you have no musical background, you can give your kids the music education of a lifetime with Prodigies!
Check out our good buddy Boo, who has one amazing musical ear! Boo started using Prodigies at age 2 and developed his sense of perfect pitch in a year and half. Results vary from child to child of course, but study after study shows that toddlers and preschoolers can develop their sense for absolute pitch much better than adults can.

Prodigies Videos & Apps
At it's core, Prodigies is a library of 300+ video music lessons that are available through a digital membership.
You can even take the videos offline using our tablet and mobile apps (iOS & Android) or with MP4 downloads via our Pro Plus Membership!
For lots of reasons, these colorful deskbells are the ideal starting instrument. They stay in tune, they are difficult to break and most importantly, they allow you to focus on a single (or a select few) musical notes at a time.
The colors of the bells make identifying musical notes easy which helps build confidence, increases enjoyment and predictability in the instrument, and as a result, helps develop a strong musical ear.
Plus, our Prodigies Deskbells are backed by a 2 year, 3 bell replacement policy! Bells are sold separately from books and memberships but you can shop our kits for bundled savings.
The Solfege Hand Signs
The Solfege (Curwen) hand signs give kids a kinesthetic action to associate with each musical note. This helps children focus on their singing and even helps develop absolute (perfect) pitch!
It also provides an instrument free way to practice with a vast majority of the videos inside of Prodigies!
The video lessons are paired step-by-step with integrated workbooks and songsheets. The workbooks give children a chance to practice the songs at their own pace, guide students in writing their own songs, and reinforce cross curricular skills like patterning, writing, simple math and more.
Our songbooks provide a concise collection of kid-friendly classics that are perfect for performances, learning new songs and practicing old favorites. While almost all of the songbook songs have corresponding videos, they are not directly integrated with the progression of the workbooks and are meant more as supplemental collections and kid-favorites.
Though Prodigies is designed around a set of colorful bells, the videos and curriculum can be easily used with a piano or any keyboard/mallet instrument. All it takes is some inexpensive color coded stickers and any piano is instantly Prodigies friendly. You can complete the curriculum once with the bells, and go back a second time through with the piano.
The color coding system we use matches the worlds most popular classroom instrument, Boomwhackers. Boomwhackers are great in a group setting where each kid gets 1 or 2 notes to play, or as a means of building a xylophone, but they're less ideal for one person, as they involve holding and striking the tube to play it, which makes it difficult to play more than 2-3 notes quickly.
Adjustable Playback Speed
If you're streaming videos on our website, you can control the Playback speed giving you more control of the difficulty and pacing of your lessons. This feature is currently only available on our web platform, but is coming to our mobile and TV platforms soon.
