Sheet Music Sundays #5 – Apples and Bananas

by | Mar 11, 2018

Welcome back to our 5th installment of #SheetMusicSundays where we get to preview the upcoming pages of My First Songbook Vol III. If you’ve been enjoying this series and haven’t done so already, check out My First Songbook Vol I & II currently in The Prodigies Shop.

March is officially National Nutrition Month so we figured what better song to work on than Apples and Bananas? Although this is a pretty simple song, it is in the key of G so uses one sharp, the F#.

Another thing to note about the music are the rests that alternate with the quarter notes on the “eat, eat, eat,” parts. This has a real call-and-response feel and I sometimes like to clap on the rests there. Speaking of call-and-response, this is a fun tune to have one person (or group) sing through twice, then the other respond. It starts to get really silly when messing with the vowels.

As for the lyrics remember, each time you play through the song change the vowel sounds from A, E, I, O, and U, and if you’re feeling really brave try Y!

Check out the first page below, and if you like the song, simply fill out the form below and we’ll e-mail you the FULL PDF with the rest, including the words for all the vowel sounds. Hope you enjoy and see you next week for another surprise song for #SheetMusicSundays!
